Shangri-La at Sunset: Poetry By Diane Maietta

Poetic meditations of the Sunset: The vastness of creative possibilities which play out before my eyes inspire me to fill my life with the energy and beauty of Creation’s wonder…my Soul is a peaceful warrior.

Shangri-La at Sunset

This Shangri-La Sun
That I have seen reflected
In the Heaven of Mother Earth;
Long, flowing groves of sympathetic sentiments;
Wild evenings of a majestic peasantry,
Grassland theatres so unsophisticated,
Yet spotlighted in passionate rainbows
More heterogeneous than the unimaginable:
This quiet with a purpose:
This provincial metropolis of simplicity,
Causing me, just a repentant philosopher
Of Love’s cinematic potions and charitable miracles—

This Sun of Shangri-La,
Give me, give me…
Wrap me in botanical wings,

Wind me up in seasonal waters;
Let my soul be a warrior for this world
As this growing life of decreasing body
Evolves with the Moon’s beauty.
Glisten me as a perfumed pearl
As Her silver lips kiss every moment.

Your Light reflects the Songs of Love:

This Earthly paradise at Sunset,

This Moon receiving the Sun.
